Guangzhou Automobile Group Motor Co., Ltd. (GAC MOTOR) recently released its first 7-seater SUV the GS8 at the Hangzhou International Expo Center.

The GS8 a c-level high-end product based on the creative cross-platform modular architecture, a platform focusing on technological innovation. 

Starting with the exterior, the GS8 gets the North American SUV roof anti-force as standard. It is also equipped with matrix-type LED headlights and U-shaped taillights that generate a deep, multi-layered lighting effect. Inside, it features a 7-seater, 3-row layout and an ultra-size panoramic sunroof.

Under the hood is the brand's golden dynamic Ti POWER 320T engine mated with a six-speed automatic gearbox. It also features the GAC Motor's second generation i-4WD 2.0 four-wheel drive system. The GS8 offers six driving modes such as sandy roads, muddy roads, snowy roads, intelligent auto, sports, and ECO. It also applies the latest Bosch electronic stability program 9.1 (ESP 9.1) which improves the car's stability.

Other amenities include automatic tailgate opening and a series of auxiliary driving assistance systems for active and passive protection, such as emergency braking and lane departure warning.

"The GS8 is another milestone for GAC Motor in terms on global outreach demonstrating our R&D capability and quality assurance system. Since it became available for pre-sale, we have already received over 8,000 orders in two months, which marks another huge step forward for GAC Motor in terms of building world-class products that are able to compete with the best in class," said Yu Jun, GAC Motor's General Manager speaking at the release conference.

During the launch, GAC Motor's General Manager Yu Jun announced that the company will strive to make GS8 as the hottest model, with sales amounting to 100,000 annually. In addition, 9 new models will be launched next year, wherein the company aims to sell at least 500,000 cars in 2017.

GAC Motor has now released GS8 and GA8 and is also planning to release GM8, making it the first Chinese brand to provide high end products in sub markets of sedan, SUV and MPV.
