Earlier this year, the Department of Energy (DOE) added the Geely Monjaro EM-i to their list of plug-in hybrids (PHEVs). Afterward, Geely Philippines confirmed the upcoming launch of the Monjaro EM-i this coming October.

Now, Geely Philippines has received regulatory clearance from the Land Transportation Office (LTO) for the Monjaro EM-i.

According to homologation documents released by the agency, the Monjaro EM-i will have 116 km of range from its lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery pack. On the other hand, it has a maximum electric power of 200kW (or 272 PS ) and 493 Nm of torque. The exact battery capacity was not explicitly mentioned, but it is likely similar to the DOE’s mention of 29.8 kWh.

The document also mentioned the charging time for the Monjaro EM-i is 4.2 hours for AC, while DC charging is at 15 minutes. For the powertrain, it has a 1499cc gasoline engine, which somewhat confirms the DOE's initial specs, which mention a 1.5L turbocharged engine making 142 PS with 230 Nm of torque and is paired to a 3-speed dedicated hybrid transmission (DHT).

In other markets where the Monjaro EM-i is already available, the PHEV has a total output of 306 kW (or 416 PS) with 723 Nm of torque and a total system range of nearly 1,100 km.

In terms of size, the Monjaro EM-i has an overall length of 4700 mm, overall width of 1895 mm, and an overall height of 1700 mm on a 2800 mm wheelbase. It also has a ground clearance of 189 mm. Last but not least, it has an empty weight of 2080 kg and 20-inch wheels wrapped in 245/45 series tires.

Since the Geely Monjaro EM-i has now secured regulatory clearances from both the DOE and the LTO, it's one-step closer to its Philippine debut in October 2026.
