Reason behind the price change is not yet confirmed
Geely PH has reportedly dropped down the prices for its LC hatchback models. The reason for the price change for the GL and GB variants of the LC are not yet confirmed as of the moment.
The Chinese brand made its local debut in 2011 but did not gain traction as sales did not pick up.
The previous price of the GL variant was PHP 448,000 while the GB at PHP 348,000. Now, the prices of the two variants have significantly dropped the pricetags to PHP 250,000 and PHP 220,000 respectively.
The exterior design of the Geely LC is insipred by a "panda" and Toyota's Aygo; a popular model to mimic among Chinese automakers. It features a dynamic and round body. In terms of size it sits in the same category with the Hyundai i10, Kia Picanto, Suzuki Alto and Suzuki Celerio. It is equipped with oval headlamps and low front grill. At the rear, the Geely LC has LED taillights, high mounted brake lamp and fog lamps.
It is powered by a 1.3-liter DOHC engine that delivers 84 PS at 6000rpm and 110 Nm of torque at 5200rpm. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.
With the new price range, only time can tell if the Geely LC can compete in the diverse Philippine automotive market.
