About a month ago, we got to drive the all-new Geely Coolray in the top-of-the-line Sport variant. It impressed us with its high-tech features, sleek looks, and its turbocharged engine. But what if you wanted something a bit less expensive than the range-topping Sport model?

Sojitz G Auto Philippines, the official distributor of Geely cars in the Philippines, has launched new and more affordable variants of the Coolray. Following the launch of the Coolray Sport last September 2019, the automaker has officially released the Comfort and Premium models of the crossover.

In a bid to set new standards for compact SUVs, Geely stated that the Comfort and Premium variants still embody 'high-tech features, modern design, and sophistication, all at a reasonably affordable price'. But what exactly do the two new variants offer?

The entry-level Comfort puts emphasis on maximizing the driver / passenger, well, comfort. It rolls on smaller 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in 215/60 tires, comes with fabric seats, and has projector halogen headlights. Meanwhile, the Premium comes with a bit more equipment which include: 18-inch alloy wheels with 225/55 tires, PVC-wrapped (polyvinyl chloride) seats, tire pressure monitoring system, and smart keyless entry.

Despite the differences when it comes to standard features or amenities, both the Premium and Comfort models are powered by the same 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder engine. That's right, both variants come with 177 PS at 5500 rpm along with 255 Nm of torque at 1500 – 4000 rpm. Power is then sent to the front wheels via a seven-speed wet dual-clutch transmission. In addition, all three come with a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and engine start/stop button.

Looking to get one? The Comfort retails at Php 978,000 while the Premium is selling for Php 1,088,000. You can also check out all the variants of the Geely Coolray at the company's showroom located along North EDSA.
