The coronavirus pandemic has continued its spread across the globe, and all nations, corporations, charities, and even individuals are pitching in.
Geely Holding Group, more known for its automobiles, has recognized this need and in cooperation with the Li Shufu Charity Foundation, they have donated 20,000 to the Department of Health (DOH). This was made possible by Sojitz G Auto Philippines, Geely’s distributor in the PH.
The front lines of Philippine hospitals have been struggling with containing the virus and in flattening the so-called curve of infection. With patients and health care workers falling ill to COVID-19, the need for even the most basic personal protective equipment or PPE is of the utmost importance. The donation of surgical masks will be a great help for the DOH, and can certainly help equip front liners with the bare minimum protection to better attend to their patients.
Geely Holding Group has expressed its commitment to support the Philippines in combating the pandemic, and providing medical supplies may just be the beginning. Vehicles and business are not the end-all-be-all between industries and countries, and reaching out with a helping hand is something we all appreciate, no doubt.
