Geneva 2011: Lamborghini Aventador
Succeeding the Murcielago
The replacement of the Lamborghini Murcielago is here, and Automobili Lamborghini decided that the Geneva Motor Show was the best place to take the wraps off the new Aventador.
With the Aventador, Lamborghini is taking a big step into the future - and building on the glorious history of the brand with the next automotive legend. The Aventador is based on an monocoque made from carbon-fiber that combines lightweight engineering with the highest levels of stiffness and safety. The new twelve-cylinder has 6.5 liters of displacement, producing 700 hp of pleasure with astonishing low-end torque. With a dry weight of 1,575 kilograms, the weight-to-power ratio stands at only 2.25 kilograms per hp (4.96 lb/hp). Acceleration is clocked at just 2.9 seconds (0-100 km/h) and the top speed of 350 km/h is quoted.
The first customers will take delivery of the new Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 in late summer 2011.
