Audi introduces its first model in the Q series to wear the RS badge with the new RS Q3. This will make the total members of the RS model to eight. It is aimed to deliver the performance of an RS model with the functionality of the Q series especially with its cargo capacity of 356 liter which can still be expanded to 1,261 liters by folding down the rear seats.
It takes just 5.5 seconds for this compact SUV to sprint from 0 to 100 km/h and has an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h. Despite the performance figures mentioned, Audi claims that the RS Q3's award-winning 310hp 2.5-liter TFSI engine has an average fuel consumption of just 8.8 liters/100 km with the help of a start/stop system and a regulated oil pump for maximum efficiency.
The engine is mated to a seven-speed S tronic gearbox that delivers the power to all four wheels that's properly controlled by the brand's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. For optimum handling, the RS Q3 was lowered by 25mm and has the battery transferred to the luggage compartment for better weight distribution.
“The RS Q3 transfers the performance philosophy of Audi to the compact SUV segment, thereby creating a new performance class,” says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of quattro GmbH.
