The new Audi RS Q3 is the first ever Audi SUV to be handed over to the specialists at Audi high performance subsidiary quattro GmbH for the full RS transformation. It will be one of Audi's highlight at the forthcoming 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
“The RS Q3 transfers the performance philosophy of Audi to the compact SUV segment, thereby creating a new performance class,” says Franciscus van Meel, Managing Director of quattro GmbH.
At the heart of this 306 hp RS pioneer is the Audi's 2.5-liter TFSI engine familiar from the TT RS and RS 3 Sportback that's linked exclusively to a seven-speed S tronic twin-clutch transmission that drives the power to all-four wheels via Audi's Quattro permanent all-wheel drive system. With this, the Q3 RS is capable of reaching the speed of 100km/h from a standstill in just 5.5 seconds and eventually lead to an electronically limited top speed of 250km/h.
The RS Q3 features RS specific body styling with the addition of high-gloss black honeycomb front grille with Quattro and RS emblems, RS bumpers, a distinctive rear diffuser, roof spoiler, special door sill plates, and large elliptical tailpipes. RS accents can also be found inside the cabin including the instrument cluster and the contrasting stitches found all over the car.
