The Toyota FT-86 Open concept will be making its world debut at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show soon. The concept follows the global success of the Toyota 86 and was created to gauge the world's reaction to its convertible version.
The FT-86 Open will now be sporting a multi-layered fabric roof for it to not take up a lot of space when stowed away in the luggage compartment. The concept is a bit smaller than the outgoing model but still maintains its current wheelbase along with the 2+2 seating format.
Since the 86 was originally designed as a cabriolet, the company is currently dealing with issues regarding the convertible's safety, rigidity, balance, and aerodynamic properties.
