Mazda has just revealed a little teaser photo of their headliner for the Geneva Motor Show in March, as the brand from Hiroshima will be showcasing the Hazumi; a next generation subcompact concept car.
According to pundits, the subcompact concept previews the next generation Mazda2, given its proportions and reveal in the life cycle of the current model. The name Hazumi, as Mazda states, means “bound” or “spring up” in Japanese, something the automaker claims is “well-suited to a small car that appears to be bursting with energy”. The overall style is a derivative of their Kodo: Soul of Motion design direction.
The reveal of the Hazumi will also coincide with the launch of a new compact clean diesel engine of the Mazda brand in the new SkyActiv-D 1.5L
Along with the reveal of the Hazumi and the new SkyActiv-D engine, Mazda will commemorate the 25-year anniversary of the Mazda MX-5, the all-time bestselling roadster.
The Geneva Motor Show opens to the public on March 6.
