The Ssangyong XLV B-segment SUV concept was revealed at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show. The XLV stands for eXciting smart Lifestyle Vehicle that offers exciting and enjoyable driving. The design of the XLV takes its cues from the multi-interface concepts that were first seen on the XIV-1 model.

The exterior is designed with detailed character lines that flow rhythmically to the vehicle’s body. The front end is inspired by Ssangyong’s XIV series concepts which are the SIV-1 and LIV-1 models. The roof of the XLV has a two-tone black effect.

Ssangyong says the interior of the XLV has a simple design concept. The dashboard and the whole front area of the interior is influenced by the shape of a bird’s wing in flight. It also has honeycombed graphics on the orange red trim line dashboard. The seating layout of the vehicle is 2+2+2+1. The seventh seat can move freely along the center of the vehicle towards the rear that allows communication and space between passengers in the second and third row.

It features an advanced interactive communication system called ‘3S-Cube’ (Smart-Link, Safe-Way, and Special Sense). The Smart-Link updates various functions and control systems including the permanent connection to electronic devices. The Safe-Way system offers a number of features to ensure driving convenience and the Special Sense allows the user to customize their own instrument cluster information and presentation.

The Ssangyong XLV Concept is equipped with a 48V hybrid system that combines a 1.6 liter diesel engine and a 10kW electric motor powered by a 500Wh lithium ion battery.
