Audi has revealed the second-generation of its high-performance electric sports car dubbed as the R8 e-tron during the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show.
As previously reported, the body of the R8 e-tron features Audi's new Space Frame design which combines aluminum and carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) materials. Up front, it is equipped with laser matrix headlights, an aggressive bumper, a splitter and a large air intake.
The rear of the vehicle is fitted with slim LED taillights, a large bumper, a lip spoiler and it is finished off with 19-inch wheels.
The interior of the 2015 R8 e-tron has a two-tone theme along with a flat-bottomed steering wheel, bucket seats and carbon fiber trims.
The vehicle comes with a high-voltage T-shaped battery that is developed by Audi specifically for a “purely electric drive.” It has a 450 km range, due to an increased battery capacity of 92 kWh. Audi said that the 2015 R8 e-tron's dual electric motor delivers 462 PS and 920 Nm of torque.
