Ford has revealed the updated EcoSport at this year's Geneva Motor Show with a redesigned rear, better sound deadening and a new S variant.
While it may relatively look the same, it now has a sleeker looking rear-end as Ford decided to make the rear spare wheel available as an option for this model. A tire mobility kit will be in place for units without the spare wheel.
Furthermore, the automaker also stated that the opening of the rear-swing door has been improved for better partial opening when there is limited space.
Displayed in Deep Impact Blue is the EcoSport S, a higher trim model that features black-colored 17-inch wheels, mirror caps and roof. Other exterior equipment fitted on the updated EcoSport include: a rear diffuser and an optional privacy glass.
Inside, a Charcoal Black finish is applied to the lower instrument panel, center console and door sills while Titanium models now get partial leather seats as standard. Noise, Vibration and Harshness (NVH) was improved as well after Ford installed thicker sound deadening materials in the dashboard and door seals. Completing the interior revisions are the relocated handbrake and the color 4-inch display.
The company did not state any engine specifications but Ford did say they retuned the suspension by altering the spring and damper rates, the rear torsion beam and reducing ride height by 10mm. In addition, Ford also claimed that they have optimized the Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and the power steering.
The refreshed EcoSport will go on sale in Europe this June.
