Mercedes-Benz recently presented the special edition SL 417 Mille Miglia at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show. Available as a package for the SL400 and SL500 models, it commemorates the 60th anniversary victory of a 300 SL that won the 1955 'Mille Miglia' at exactly 4:17 PM. It is considered to be one of the most challenging long-distance races that took place in Italy from 1927-1957.
Limited to only 500 units, the package consist of that include: red accents on the front spoiler lip, rear spoiler, red brake calipers and black AMG Performance wheels that measure 19-inches at the front and 20-inches at the rear. Furthermore, both cars will be finished in Metallic Magnetite Black though the automaker is also offering two optional paint finishes; Night Black Magno and Cashmere White Magno.
Inside, the AMG Line seats and center console feature red accents while the leather headrests have an embossed 'SL Mille Miglia' label. The steering wheel is wrapped in black Nappa leather and has splashes of red and carbon fiber trim. Completing the interior revisions are black floor mats with red edging and an embroidered '1000 Miglia' label.
The SL400 is fitted with a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 that puts out 333 PS while the SL500 utilizes a 4.6-liter twin-turbo V8 that cranks out 435 PS. Both models come equipped with adaptive dampers as standard while the Active Body Control (ABC) comes as an optional extra.
