Geneva 2015: Suzuki iK-2 concept makes world debut

The iK-2 concept is confirmed for production

Suzuki has revealed its new concept at the 2015 Geneva International Motor Show.

Dubbed as the iK-2, Suzuki says the concept is designed with the company’s ‘new-generation platform’ that is designed to “efficiently increase rigidity while reducing weight via a fundamental redesign of the underbody’s structure.”  It measures 4023mm long, 1920mm wide and 1450mm tall with a wheelbase of 2520mm.

The iK-2 concept features flowing lines throughout the body. Up front, it is fitted with a wide bumper grill and sharp-looking LED headlights. Turning at the side, the iK-2 concept is characterized by smooth lines that extend up to the rear end.

The concept is also equipped with distinctive taillights along with an aggressive bumper and roof-mounted spoiler. Moreover, it has a sloping rear window and chrome trims.

Power comes from a 1.0-liter ‘Boosterjet’ direct-injection turbo engine. However, Suzuki remains to withhold the power output rating of the iK-2 concept. In addition, the production version of the iK-2 will also be available with SHVS mild hybrid system that is to be released in Europe in early 2016.
