Jaguar introduces the fastest F-Type ever

Jaguar has revealed the F-Type SVR at the 2016 Geneva International Motor Show. The said vehicle is the first production Jaguar to be developed by Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations. The 2017 F-Type SVR is also described as the fastest F-Type ever.

According to the British automaker, the Jaguar F-Type SVR is 25 kg lighter than the F-Type R AWD. The vehicle can go 50 kg lighter when optioned with the carbon ceramic brakes and carbon fiber roof panel.

Available in coupe and convertible versions, the F-Type SVR is fitted with sweptback headlights, large air intakes, hood vents and front splitter. It also has prominent wheel arches and sharp character lines.


The rear, on the other hand, comes with distinctive taillights, a muscular bumper, a spoiler and four round tailpipes made out of titanium and Inconel, an alloy of nickel containing chromium and iron. The F-Type SVR sits at 20-inch forged aluminum wheels.

In terms of size, it measures 4475mm long, 2042mm wide and 1311mm (coupe) / 1308mm (convertible) tall along with a wheelbase of 2622mm.

Inside, the F-Type SVR features a driver oriented cabin layout along with SVR Performance seats finished in 'Jet' black leather, anodized aluminum paddle shifters and an eight-inch infotainment touchscreen.


Powering the F-Type SVR is a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that delivers 575 PS and 700 Nm of torque. The engine is mated to an eight-speed 'Quickshift' automatic transmission. Jaguar claims that the vehicle can go from 0 to 97 km/h in 3.5 seconds before reaching a top speed of 322 km/h.
