Chevrolet Philippines announces arrival of the all-new Cruze
Looking for a four-door sedan from Chevrolet soon? You're in luck as The Covenant Car Company Inc (TCCCI), the official distributor of Chevrolet cars in the Philippines, recently announced that the 2018 Cruze is set to arrive in the country some time this year.
First revealed in Detroit, the new-generation Cruze features a sleeker design and is lighter than its predecessor. Starting with its front fascia, the 2018 Cruze features a sweeping front fascia dominated by sleek LED headlights and a revised dual-port front grill. Meanwhile, the rear gets a sportier look thanks to new set of taillights, more aggressive rear bumper and a more sculpted trunk lid.
Over to its interior, the Cruze adopts a dual-cockpit design reminiscent from the D-segment Malibu. Chevrolet also claimed that the new Cruze has more interior space than the previous generation, allowing more legroom and knee room for the rear occupants.
On the dashboard, the 2018 Cruze gets a three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a new MyLink infotainment system that supports Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a revised climate control system. Higher-grade models can even be specified with 4G LTE Wi-Fi connectivity and navigation.
Under the hood, the all-new Cruze is powered by a 1.4-liter turbocharged EcoTec four-cylinder engine that can be mated to a six-speed automatic or manual transmission. It generates 155 PS along with 240 Nm of torque.
There are no details yet as to what specific model/s of the Cruze will be offered here in the Philippines. Also, there is no word yet if TCCCI will also bring in the hatchback version of the all-new Cruze.
Expect the 2018 Chevy Cruze to make its local debut soon.
