All-new Toyota Rush to officially arrive in the PH in May

The wait is almost over for Toyota's all-new mini SUV as the company recently announced that it will be arriving very soon. After opening the reservation books last March for the upcoming Rush, Toyota Motors Philippines (TMP) has officially announced that their all-new seven-seater will arrive in the country come May 2018.

While exact specifications remain to be seen, we do know that the Rush rides on the same platform as the Avanza. This means that the Rush comes with a full ladder frame chassis instead of a unibody-based monocoque platform. In addition, the Rush measures 4,435mm long, 1,695mm wide, 1,705mm tall and has a 2685mm wheelbase.

Its exterior design is reminescent of the Fortuner as it features sleek and aggressive front and rear fascias. The former gets upswept headlights along with a massive grill and prominent front bumper. Meanwhile, the rear gets wraparound taillights and black plastic body cladding on the rear bumper.

Power is provided by a 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine derived from the Avanza. Output figures are expected to be almost the same as with the Avanza as well as the available transmission options; a five-speed manual and a four-speed automatic.

As mentioned earlier, Toyota is now accepting reservations for the all-new Rush through any of the 63 authorized dealerships nationwide. Following its launch and subsequent release, the Toyota Rush is set to go up against the likes of the Honda BR-V, the Mitsubishi Xpander and other smilarly-sized mini seven-seaters.
