Goodyear launches new EfficientGrip Performance SUV tires

Goodyear holds global debut of EfficientGrip Performance SUV tires

As the demand for luxury SUVs continues to grow, tire makers are forced to come up with a new kind of rubber that can offer both comfort and driving confidence. With this in mind, Goodyear recently held the regional launch of the all-new EfficientGrip Performance SUV tire in Buriram, Thailand.

It was built and designed to deliver a quiet driving experience, better comfort and exceptional performance under wet braking. It comes with Goodyear's QuietTred technology which dampens road noise, along with FlexContact Technology that allows the tire to deliver a more comfortable ride.

With QuietTred, Goodyear claimed that the closed grooves and shoulder design of the new tire allows for lower noise generation. Moreover, the improved foot print shape also meant less vibrations as well as enhancing the tire's longevity. On the other hand, FlexContact imbues the tire with improved material and construction for a smoother ride. It even has a shock absorbing cushion for optimized damping.

Wet weather braking was also developed in mind for the new EfficientGrip tire. According to Goodyear, the tire also comes with new polymer treads which increases grip in wet road conditions. Topping it all off are the wider and reinforced shoulder blocks and centerline sipes that increase the contact area durin braking. This reduces braking distances for a safer drive according to Goodyear.

“We understand that today’s urban luxury SUV drivers are looking for a comfortable, quiet escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life, and the EfficientGrip Performance SUV is our answer to that. With the advanced QuietTred and FlexContact Technology, together with exceptional wet braking performance, we are confident that the EfficientGrip Performance SUV will provide consumers with an invigorating drive through every day’s journeys,” said Chris Delaney, president of Goodyear APAC

The all-new EfficientGrip Performance SUV tire will be available from 16- to 20-inch wheel sizes.
