Look out everyone, the Great Wall King Kong Cannon pick-up is here

A few months ago, Great Wall Motor (GWM) surprised the motoring world when they revealed the Tank 500. Set to take on the likes of the Toyota Land Cruiser and Nissan Patrol Royale, the large SUV has a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6, 4WD capability with front, rear, and center locking differentials, and plenty of toys to keep passengers entertained.

Fast forward to the present, and GWM has another vehicle coming. It's called the King Kong Cannon, and before you scoff at the vehicle's name, this behemoth of a pick-up truck appears to be bigger than any of the pick-up trucks we currently have.

Once officially launched, the pick-up will reportedly measure 5635mm long, making it longer than your usual midsize offering. In terms of design, the King Kong Cannon has a very imposing exterior that consists of a large honeycomb-style grille, unique LED headlights, muscular fenders, and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in chunky all-terrain tires.

Other features of GWM's new pick-up truck include side steps, a sports bar, a generously-sized bed, U-shaped taillights, and a front skid plate. All combined, it gives the King Kong Cannon a very rugged look.

Under the hood, the pick-up will reportedly be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that puts out 190 PS with 360 Nm of torque. A turbo-diesel version with 163 PS could also be available. Both the engines will supposedly be mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The GWM King Kong Cannon is expected to make its official debut at the Auto Guangzhou 2021. If Great Wall Motors decides to set up shop in the Philippines, would you consider the King Kong Cannon pick-up truck instead of the current offerings available in the country?
