The 1st ASEAN EV and Hybrid Summit co-organized by the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines (CAMPI) and the Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (eVAP) opened its doors today at the World Trade Center in Pasay. The summit is expected to bring in motoring enthusiasts and automotive industry leaders from all over the region to embrace the theme of greener transport.
Various manufacturers have also brought out their latest electric and hybrid vehicles which will soon be gracing Philippine roads, which includes the new Toyota Prius PHV, Lexus NX300h, Nissan Note e-Power and the Nissan Leaf.
Mitsubishi Motors meanwhile turned over Outlander PHEV and i-MiEV units to the DENR, both of which will also be on display.
Meanwhile, a photo exhibit will feature select models from CAMPI member-brands that showcase environmentally-friendly innovations. Some examples include the BMW i8, the Honda Legend 3.5 Sport Hybrid, and the Kia Soul EV, to name a few. Attendees meanwhile will be immersed in green car technology via educational videos played through an LED for the duration of the two-day event.
“We can’t wait to show both our colleagues and the public what our member-brands have to offer in terms of greener transport. This is an exciting period for the automotive industry as we follow the shift to electric vehicles and hybrid technology,” says Atty. Rommel Gutierrez, CAMPI president.
The 1st ASEAN Electric and Hybrid Vehicles Summit will run from June 29 to 30, 2017.
