Truckers and motorists that frequently cross the C3 Road Bridge may have to find an alternate route getting to and from their destinations. Starting July 20, 2019 until November 2019, the bridge will be partially closed to give way to the construction of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 section.
During its partial closure, light vehicles bound for Radial Road 10 and vice versa will be rerouted to take Dagat-Dagatan Avenue, as well as Lapu-Lapu Avenue. Meanwhile, heavy vehicles can still cross the two-way traffic along the remaining portion of C3 Bridge.
“We are advising motorists to plan their trips ahead and, at the same time, seek their understanding as the partial closure of C3 Bridge is necessary to complete this project on time,” said Jojo Garcia, MMDA General Manager.
Both the MMDA and the NLEX Corporation will deploy marshals to guide & manage vehicles in order to maintain a smooth and orderly flow of traffic. In addition, directional traffic signs will be put up as well to better guide the public during the rerouting scheme.
“Construction of the NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 C3-R10 Section is making significant progress. When completed, it will provide direct access between R10 and NLEX thus contribute to ease of travel and traffic decongestion in Metro Manila,” said Luigi L. Bautista, president and General Manager of NLEX Corporation.
In review, the NLEX Harbor Link 10 C3-R10 section is a 2.6-km elevated expressway that will run from C3 Road, Caloocan City all the way to Radial Road 10, Navotas City. It will link up to the recently-opened 5.65-km NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10 that passes through Karuhatan, Valenzuela City, Governor Pascual Avenue in Malabon City, and New Caloocan Interchange in 5th Avenue/ C3 Road, Caloocan City.
