Thinking of heading out this weekend? Then be prepared to encounter some congestion as the Department of Public Works and Highway (DPWH) recently announced that they will be conducting road works along EDSA and on other thoroughfares.

Three sections along EDSA will undergo road reblocking and repair. The first segment is along the southbound lane from Arayat Street to P. Tuazon Street, 2nd lane from the sidewalk. Next is the inner most southbound lane from Eugenio Lopez Street to Scout Borromeo. The last section that will undergo repairs will be the northbound 2nd lane at the front of Vertis North to Trinoma Mall.

Other roads that will be rehabiliated are the following:

  • Espana Boulevard, northbound going to Quiapo from M. Dela Fuente near Ramon Magsaysay High School

  • Quirino Highway, northbound outer lane from Lagro to near Mater Carmeli

  • Congressional Avenue, third northbound lane from Cagayan Street to Culiat Bridge

  • A. Bonifacio Avenue, northbound inner lane from Tagaytay Street going to Mayon

  • Visayas Avenue, southbound inner lane in front of PTV4

According to DPWH-NCR Regional Director Melvin B. Navarro, all of the mentioned roads will be using a one-day curing concrete mix to speed up repairs.

The DPWH will conduct the road repairs on May 11, 11:00 PM until May 14, 5:00 AM.
