Bracing for the higher toll fees that will take affect at the North Luzon Expressway (NLEX) this coming March 20? Well we have some good news for you as the NLEX Corporation recently announced that they will be reducing the toll rate hikes by Php 1.
You read that right, the company will not be charging the full toll increase from Class 1 to Class 3 vehicles. According to the NLEX Corporation, the adjustments were made in order to soften the impact for those that constantly use the expressway.
“The NLEX Corporation announced today it will collect lower additional flat rates for the expressway sections covered under its open system to cushion the impact of the recently approved toll adjustments,” the company said in a statement.
With the lowering of the new toll fee matrix, Class 1 vehicles that will use the open system (which covers Balintawak, Mindanao Avenue, Karuhatan, Caloocan, Meycuayan, and Marilao toll plazas) will only need to pay Php 54 instead of Php 55. For those that will travel the entire length of NLEX however, Class 1 vehicles will only need to shell out Php 257 instead of Php 258.
Over to Class 2 vehicles which consist of buses and small trucks, they will only need to pay Php 136 and Php 645 when traveling via the open system or from end-to-end accordingly. Finally, Class 3 vehicles which covers big rigs and large trailer trucks, will have to shell out Php 164 when coming in via the open system, and Php 774 when traveling from end-to-end.
As mentioned before, the increase in toll rates come after the completion of the all-new 5.65 km NLEX Harbor Link Segment 10.
