So we have already seen the 2021 Toyota Fortuner make its Philippine debut in the top-of-the-line LTD form. But what do the non-LTD models look like?
Wonder no more, as Toyota also released pictures (and details) of the G, V, and Q variants of the refreshed Fortuner. Unlike the LTD which sports a distinct aero kit, the Q model gets a more subtle update. It now has an all-black front grille, redesigned bi-beam LED headlights and daytime running lights, bigger corner intakes with integrated foglights, sleeker LED taillights, and a revised front and rear bumper design.
The G and V variants also get the same look as the Q. However, the base G doesn't come with foglights at the front. Moreover, the Q rolls on a unique set of multi-spoke 18-inch alloy wheels, while the G and V come with 17-inch alloy wheels that appear to have been carried over from before.
Open the doors, and the non LTD models of the Fortuner is available with either leather (Q) or fabric (V and G) seats. However, unlike the LTD which comes with maroon interior accents, the lesser models only come with faux metal/wood accents and piano black trim.
Sorry JBL fans, the nine-speaker sound system is only available on the LTD models. Still, Toyota installed a six-speaker audio system on the G, V, and Q variants. The 8-inch touchscreen system from the LTD is also available on the Q and V models which also come with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. The entry-level G only gets a smaller 7-inch touchscreen unit, although Toyota made sure it also came with Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, Bluetooth, USB, and voice command.
Forgot to bring your charging cable for your smartphone? The Q and V come with wireless phone charging as standard. Also available are 12V power sockets and rear USB chargers which can keep your gadgets fully charged.
In the safety department, all models of the 2021 Fortuner come with anti-lock brakes with electronic brakeforce distribution, brake assist, traction control, vehicle stability control, and front and rear parking sensors. A reverse camera come standard on the G model, while a panoramic view monitor is fitted on the Q and V. The intelligent Toyota Safety Sense suite of features is also available on the non-LTD variants, but only for the new Q model.
As for color options, the non-LTD offerings of the Fortuner can come in the following hues: Gray Metallic, Silver Metallic, Silver Metallic, and Super White II. White Pearl Crystal Shine option is also available, albeit for an extra PhP 15,000 on top of the sticker price.
