After weeks of being closed, LTO centers are reopening

Starting today, May 3, 2021, LTO offices in Metro Manila, Bulacan, Cavite, Laguna, and Rizal are open once more. For those that have to renew their vehicle’s registration, there’s no need to rush to the LTO Offices today or any time this week. Remember, the agency has extended the validity of licenses and permits that expired during ECQ and MECQ. Moreover, the validity of motor vehicle registrations with plate numbers ending in “3” and “4” has also been extended. As announced previously, the vehicles with plates ending in “3” have their registration valid until June 30, 2021, and “4” until July 31, 2021.
There is also a weekly schedule that motorists with plates “3” and “4” will have to follow to prevent overcrowding at LTO offices. Don’t remember the schedule? You may check it out in the photo above.
Aside from vehicles with plate numbers ending in “3” and “4”, the LTO announced that the validity of plates ending in “5” has been extended as well. Registration of said vehicles is now valid until August 30, 2021. Similarly, there will also be a weekly schedule as to when owners should head to LTO offices to have their registrations renewed. Again, this will be done by viewing the middle number of the plate and checking the corresponding schedule listed by the LTO.
While the LTO is restarting operations, do remember to stay safe when heading to their offices. Always wear a face mask and face shield at all times in public areas and remember to follow social distancing protocols. Don’t try to crowd by heading there on the first week of operation. However, it’s also not an excuse to slack off and do everything last minute. Remember, renewing registration after the extension will be subject to an additional fine.
