Honda recalls 65,567 vehicles for airbag inflator flaw
Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) announced a voluntary safety recall affecting 65,567 vehicles sold in the country due to a suspected defect in the inflator of the driver side airbag.
HCPI says the affected vehicles are select CR-V (Model Year 2007-2011), Jazz (MY 2006, 2009-2012), Civic (2006-2011), City (2003-2011) and Insight (2011-2012).
Although there are no reported accidents or inquiries related to the issue here in the Philippines, HCPI said that this recall is part of the company's effort to ensure the safety of the owners. In this regard, HCPI advises affected customers to contact and set an appointment with the nearest Honda car dealerships and service centers nationwide.
Repair service of the affected vehicles will start today (September 14, 2015). The replacement of the airbag inflator will only take about one (1) hour and will be free of charge for both parts and labor.
HCPI apologizes for any inconvenience caused to the owners of these vehicles and assures that this preventive measure is conducted to ensure their safety.
