Honda Cars PH launches the 2014 City
Honda Cars Philippines has officially launched the next generation City at SMX.

At an event in the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City, Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. formally launched the next generation of their popular subcompact sedan: the 2014 Honda City.

The new model, initially revealed by Honda in India and subsequently in Thailand for the 2014 Bangkok International Motor Show, arrives in the Philippines and is assembled at the Honda Cars Philippines plant in Santa Rosa, Laguna.

The all-new City features Honda's “Exciting H Design” language that was conceived to deliver what Honda calls High Tech (innovative spirit), High Tension (pursuit of a beautiful body structure and layout) and High Touch (finely-honed surfaces and textures). The sleek new model gets what Honda calls a “solid wing face harmonized with a low front face”.

Honda has also thoroughly redesigned the interior around the “man maximum, machine minimum” design philosophy with a spacious cabin that Honda claims exceeds class standards, comparable even to larger models. Honda worked on a “layered floating cockpit” concept for the dashboard, using quality materials to generate an upscale feel.
The 2014 Honda City comes with features (depending on the variant) such as a 7-inch touchscreen display, handsfree Bluetooth connectivity, Aux-in, USB, voice recognition control, automatic climate control and the like on top of the other standard features like power steering, power windows, power mirrors and keyless entry. Some models have up to three 12 volt sockets, a smart key with push start, Eco Assist, drive-by-wire, dual airbags, ABS and EBD.
What is unique about the 2014 City is an HDMI socket that allows the 7-inch display to mirror the screen of your smartphone. Top spec versions also get side airbags, curtain airbags, VSA (stability control), 60:40 seats, hill start assist, an Emergency Stop Signal system and a multi-view reverse camera.

The 2014 Honda City is only available with an improved 120 PS 1.5 liter i-VTEC engine; Honda Cars Philippines opted to omit the 1.3 engine. The 1.5L engine is mated to either a 5-speed manual or an Earth Dreams-developed 7-speed CVT with paddle shifters.
The 2014 Honda City is now available at Honda dealers in New Gold Brown Metallic (VX and VX+ only), Carnelian Red Pearl (E CVT and VX only), Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl (except VX+) and Taffeta White.
Honda Philippines is also releasing two Modulo versions of the 2014 City with the 1.5 E Modulo Utility (front grille, door visor, trunk tray, seatback holder, tablet holder, door side protector, trunk cargo hook and a Modulo emblem) and the 1.5 VX Aero Sports (Modulo front grille, front under spoiler, side under spoiler, rear under spoiler, wing-type tailgate spoiler, illuminated side step garnish and a Modulo emblem).
