If you have been holding off on buying a brand new Honda vehicle, better do so before June ends. Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has recently announced that vehicle prices are set to increase starting July 1, 2019, and will take effect at all Honda Cars dealerships nationwide. In fact, the memo was even signed by Honda Cars president Noriyuki Takakura himself, which you can read below.
According to HCPI, the reason behind the price increase is due to the unfavorable exchange rates which have affected the costs of business. However, the automaker did say that they have “exerted all efforts to minimize the effect” for customers all across the country. They ask customers to be more understanding as they continue to provide quality products.
For now, it was not mentioned how big of a price increase there will be and specifically which vehicles are included in the price increase. Considering that HCPI had to make an announcement regarding it though, it might be a big jump from the prices we have now. Currently, the least expensive car being offered by Honda in the country is the 2019 Brio, currently priced at Php 585,000 for the 5-speed manual. Meanwhile, the most expensive model would be the Honda Odyssey which retails for more than Php 2 million.
With that, we suggest you pick up the Honda vehicle you've been eyeing before the prices go up in the coming months.
