The CR-V is one of the safest crossovers in the market today. But don't take Honda's word for it, that's according to the ASEAN New Car Assessment Program which recently gave it not one but two accolades for safety.

This year, the CR-V won Best SUV Car in Child Occupant Protection and it also received the ASEAN NCAP Excellent Award - Consistent 5 Star award as well. For crash protection, the CR-V garnered a total score of 88.0/100. The CR-V is one of the few cars in the market today which offers a near perfect score for child occupant protection, achieving 15.65 points. Further boosting its score is its advance Honda Sensing safety suite, which helps prevent collisions or, at the very least, mitigate it.

As it is, the CR-V packs a load of safety features, both active and passive. The CR-V comes equipped with G-Force Control (G-CON) technology, Dual SRS Airbags, i-Side Airbags, Side Curtain Airbags, Vehicle Stability Assist (VSA), Hill Start Assist (HSA), Emergency Stop Signal (ESS), and a Multi-angle Rearview Camera.

Another Honda model receiving acclaim from the ASEAN NCAP is the Civic. It too received five stars for crash protection. The Civic got high marks for both adult occupant protection, and child occupant protection. Like the CR-V, the Civic is equipped with stability control as standard, which boosted its overall score.
