Honda and Jsport to debut custom CR-Vs
While SEMA may not be as big a thing for those outside of the United States unlike the Tokyo Auto Salon, that doesn't mean we don't get inspired by some of the cars and SUVs they come up with.
These two CR-V units from Honda are proof of that.
Both of these Honda CR-V units were built by Jsport Performance Accessories. One CR-V was inspired by the weekend warrior concept, while the other is conceived to be more of an overlanding vehicle.
The first is the 2020 Honda CR-V Hybrid “Do”, which is the one meant for the weekend warrior; a person who enjoys adventures on Saturdays and Sundays. And so the CR-V Hybrid has been kitted out to suit that need, particularly for an individual that likes to attack bike trails.
Jsport equipped the CR-V Hybrid with a 1.5 inch lift kit for extra clearance which goes well with the 17-inch off-road alloys from KMC with Nitto Terra Grappler all-terrain tires. The accessorized look with the black cladding, black wheels and step sills actually contrast well with the light metallic blue color scheme.
Mounted on the roof is a Jsport basket as well as a roof basket with a cooler, some mats, and even a Cannondale mountain bike. Perfect for that getaway on a muddy trail.
But the one that easily caught our eye was the 2020 CR-V “Dream” build. Also by Jsport, it gets a more extreme upgrade inspired by overlanding off-road machines. While it gets the same 1.5-inch lift kit, same all-terrain tires, same off-road wheel brand, and same side steps as the CR-V Hybrid “Do”, this one is a bit more extensively kitted.
The stock bumper has been modified with lights and is protected by a tubular steel under rider. The tailgate features a rear tire rack that swings out; it even has jerry cans for fuel. It also has a Roofnest expandable tent, and comes fitted with lights too. Most notable of the exterior enhancements include what looks like a map of North America's major national parks.
In the cargo area, the Dream build comes with a modular compartment system that includes what looks like a refrigerator and drawer compartments for, well, stuff.
These Jsport Performance Accessories Honda CR-V builds will be displayed at the upcoming Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas.
