Could this be the all-new Honda ZR-V?

Following the launch of the BR-V last month, it seems Honda Indonesia has another surprise in store. The automaker has released a teaser of a new crossover scheduled to debut this November 11 at the 2021 Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS). There's no name or official details yet, but the crossover is tipped to be the ZR-V.

Based on the lone teaser photo, the upcoming crossover will have a very compact body. Expect it to adopt a sporty styling from the character lines and design cues such as the rear wing and what appears to be an accented side skirt. The crossover will also adopt a unique rear quarter window that extends to the backglass.

Honda had also shown teasers of the supposed ZR-V during the Indonesian launch of the Civic. From the photos, the crossover will come with a unique set of LED taillights with “dotted” graphics that further enhance the sporty character lines. There's also an RS badge below the taillight. At the front, there is a pair of slim LED headlights, similar to the rest of Honda's current lineup.

Knowing how Honda reveals their vehicles, we may see the upcoming crossover as a concept or a prototype first instead of a production model. Hopefully, it's the prototype so we can have a better idea of what the production model will look like.

There's no word on the powertrain just yet, but it could be similar to the one in the City or even the BR-V. That means it might get a 1.5-liter DOHC i-VTEC mill that produces 121 PS and 145 Nm torque paired with a CVT. It could also adopt the turbocharged 1.0-liter mill from the Thai-spec City RS.

Fortunately, we won't have to speculate too much about the crossover and even its name. The mystery crossover will officially be revealed this Thursday.
