Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) has just issued a recall for various models in their lineup. This is due to fuel pumps with defective impellers, mainly affecting 2018 – 2019 year model units of the Accord, BR-V, Mobilio, City, Civic, Jazz, HR-V, and CR-V. Owners are urged to bring their vehicles to their nearest dealership.
According to HCPI, letters have been sent to owners of affected vehicles. Individuals who would want to check themselves if they are affected may also do so via the recall information page on Honda’s official website. Just enter the 17-digit Chassis Number or Vehicle Identification Number into the online search tool.
The fuel pump service kit replacement is available in any of HCPI’s 34 dealerships beginning July 2020. Parts and labor are free of charge, and the servicing may take up to one and a half hours. Honda encourages its clients to schedule an appointment beforehand to ensure better servicing for their vehicles. This can be done through Honda’s customer service hotline, 1-800-1000-HONDA (46632), or (02) 8857-7240, which is open between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM, from Monday to Friday, or by sending an email to [email protected].
While this effort is to ensure customer safety, HCPI has also apologized for any inconvenience these circumstances may cause for their customers.
The faulty fuel pumps may result in vehicles not starting up or to become inoperative, so checking if your vehicle is affected is a good thing to do as early as now.
