Next generation City to start assembly in Honda Santa Rosa plant.
Last Friday, Honda Cars Philippines welcomed Toshio Kuwahara as their new president, assuming the post held by Tatsuya Natsume.
“We will keep you very busy this year,” said Kuwahara. “Expect new Honda models to be available in the market soon. You will actually see the all new City very soon.”
The next generation Honda City, originally revealed by Honda India and subsequently by other markets around the world, will be making it's Philippine debut very soon. Kuwahara shared with AutoIndustriya.com that the next generation of their subcompact and best seller will be produced at their Santa Rosa, Laguna assembly plant.
This week, the 2014 City will begin rolling off the assembly lines, marking the arrival of another generation of the nameplate; the fourth one since the mid 2000s, though technically this is already the 6th generation model. The launch date has been set on April 22.
Beyond the City, Honda is also scheduled for many other Philippine debuts in 2014 including the next generation Jazz (known as the Fit elsewhere). Other models that HCPI execs have alluded to most likely include the Brio (a subcompact hatchback), the Brio Amaze (a subcompact sedan) and the facelifted Civic, among others.
It looks like a very busy year for Honda indeed.
