Honda has officially released the production version of the Urban SUV concept and christened the model as VEZEL. The new crossover will be Honda’s challenger for the small SUV segment which has been gaining popularity in the recent years. The VEZEL will be available in both gasoline powered and hybrid versions for the Japanese market.
The Japanese automaker developed the new vehicle by combining the dynamic qualities of an SUV, the elegance of a coupe and the functionality of a minivan. The exterior features a combination of an SUV-like lower body while having a coupe-shape upper body fused with sharp character lines. The interior emphasizes a coupe-like front while giving minivan-like spaciousness and comfort for the rear.
The Honda VEZEL will be powered by either a 1.5-liter direct injection gas engine or a SPORT HYBRID i-DCD which comprises a 1.5-liter direct injection engine with a high output electric motor. The new engines will adopt Honda’s Earth Dreams technology for efficiency and performance.
More details on the VEZEL will be released before its debut in Japan next month.
