Lamborghini is not resting on its laurels, it seems.
Following last week's record-breaking run at the Nurburgring Nordschleife by the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ, the Sant-Agata Bolognese-based automaker recently revealed a new special edition Huracan Super Trofeo Evo at the famous Spa-Francorchamps race track in Belgium.
To mark the company's 10th anniversary of the Squadra Corse one-make race, the House of the Raging Bull recently unveiled the very-limited Huracan Super Trofeo 10th Edition. It celebrates Lamborghini's achievement in delivering motorsport racing for its customers and features a unique exterior, along with a slightly more powerful V10 powerplant.
Unlike the standard Super Trofeo, the special 10th Edition features a special livery along with Italy's signature tricolor placed at the center. A matte gray finish dominates the entirety of the Huracan while splashes of Mantis Green give the supercar a more striking exterior.
But what really sets this limited-run Super Trofeo from the rest are the special numbered plate, and certificate of origin signed by Stefano Domenicali (Chairman and CEO of Lamborghini), Maurizio Reggiani (Chief Technical Officer at Lamborghini) and Giorgio Sanna (head of Lamborghini Motorsport).
Only ten examples of the Huracan Super Trofeo 10th Edition will be made and will come with a custom-tailored race suit made by OMP. Power will still come from a naturally-aspirated V10 that benefits from an all-new ECU mapping. With it, power has been increased from 620 PS to 630 PS. A six-speed sequential X-Trac gearbox sends power to the wheels. Meanwhile, sticky Pirelli P Zero DHD2 tires keep the Huracan planted to the pavement while Bosch Motorsport anti-lock brakes and Motec traction control system ensures the car is safe under any driving conditions.
“The Huracán Super Trofeo Evo 10th Edition is a tribute to our tradition, a new manifestation of the synergy between Squadra Corse and the R&D Department, two entities linked by a continuous osmosis process: motorsport allows us to perfect the product, which in turn is the basis of the racing cars of the future. They are two spirals that intertwine indissolubly to form the Lamborghini DNA,” said Maurizio Reggiani, Automobili Lamborghini Chief Technical Officer.
There is no price tag for the Huracan Super Trofeo 10th Edition. But given that the standard Super Trofeo already retails for an eye-watering $295,000, let's just say this limited Huracan has an even higher sticker price.
