A new model from Hyundai Motor Co. will soon be making its debut as the company recently announced its monicker; Creta. Set to be revealed in India soon, the Korean brand describes the upcoming nameplate as their first sub-compact SUV that will be an influential global model for the company.
No exact image of the SUV was provided but the company did say that it will be imbued with Hyundai Motor's Modern Premium brand direction – Simple, Creative, Caring. As for the name itself, the automaker claims that Creta was derived from Greek's largest island Crete as it is associated with the vibrance and energetic theme of the Mediterranean . In addition, they also said that Creta purposely evokes similarities with the word 'creative'.
The Hyundai Creta will likely be the production version of the ix25 concept revealed during the 2014 Beijing International Automotive Exhibition. Catered for the younger generation according to Hyundai, the ix25 concept features the automaker's Fluidic Sculpture 2.0 design language along with a 2.0-liter powerplant.
