After three years in the market, Hyundai has now updated to their A-segment hatchback, the i10, with a long list of exterior and interior changes to keep the model competitive in the market.
Up front is where there biggest changes can be seen. The 2017 i10 now sports a new front fascia which now follow's Hyundai's 'Fluidic Sculpture 2.0' design language. Its front bumper has been redesigned as well with a bigger front air intake and reshaped foglight housings. On higher trim levels, a pair of round LED daytime running lights occupy the upper corners of the air intake. Moving towards the rear, it gets redesigned tail light clusters as well as a new rear bumper with larger reflectors. Rounding up the changes made to the i10 are a new set of alloy wheels.
Most of the 2017 i10's interior carries over unchanged but Hyundai has given its infotainment system an upgrade. 2-DIN radios are standard on lower trim levels but higher-spec models are now available with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
More technologies were also added to the car's safety systems. It now has Front Collision Warning System (FCWS), as well as Lane Departure Warning System (LDWS) available on higher spec models. FCWS alerts the driver of road hazards through a series of beeps and visual warnings. Meanwhile, the Lane Departure Warning System is automatically engaged at speeds over 60 km/h. This system notifies the driver if they are veering towards the edges of a lane and sounds an alarm if they do so.
Under the hood, the 1.0 inline three and 1.2 liter inline four engines are carried over from the pre-facelift models. Output for the 1.0 liter is rated at 66 PS and 94 Nm of torque while the 1.2 liter four cylinder puts out 87 PS and 120 Nm of torque. The i10 comes standard with a five speed manual while a four speed automatic is optional.
