Hyundai Asia Resources Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai in the Philippines managed to record a 12-percent growth in the month of June that tallied a total number of sales to 1,928, which is higher than 2013’s record of 1,726 units. HARI also gained a 6-percent equivalent in growth for the first 6 months with a total of 11,651 units sold.
“Despite a slower economic growth outlook this year, Hyundai is poised to take its steady sales track in full swing for the remainder of the year on the strength of our customer experience standards and modern premium products and services,” said Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, HARI President and CEO.
Their Passenger Cars (PC) remain the best seller in their line-up of automobiles, remarking a 28-percent gain of 1,349 units, higher than last year’s 1,051.
The EON and Accent nameplates are the favorites, where the EON gained a 65-percent boost in sales after its introduction in the market while the Accent a 42-percent updraft with a total of 550 units sold in June.
Combined sales from both the EON and Accent during the first 6 months totaled the number of sales to 7,896 units, which is 21-percent higher than last year’s 6,546 units.
The sales of their Light Commercial Vehicles (LCV) slumped by 14-percent in the month of June, only managing to sell 579 units due to supply pressure. The year-on-year record also went down by 16-percent with only 3,755 being sold whereas last year’s record was 4,446 units.
