Hyundai Stargazer with captain seats retails for PHP 1.298M

While everyone was busy taking pictures of the newly launched Stargazer X and all-new Custin minivan, an interesting addition to the Stargazer lineup also showed up at Hyundai's most recent event in Laguna.

We're talking about the Stargazer GLS Premium 6-seater. It was previewed back at the 2023 Manila International Auto Show, and now Hyundai Motor Philippines is officially putting the variant on sale.

Much like what we saw at MIAS, the 6-seater Stargazer is identical to the 7-seater variant on the outside, but the cabin comes with captain seats on the second row for a more comfortable cabin experience. It replaces the bench-type seats of the 7-seater that can fit three adults.

However, the main difference between the 6-seater unit at MIAS and the one that's officially being sold is that the latter now comes with a revised dashboard design similar to the Stargazer X. It now has a slimmer dashboard panel that's finished in piano black. It remains to be seen if newer 7-seater units will adopt the revised dashboard but for now, it's already present on the 6-seater Stargazer and the Stargazer X.

Either way, cabin amenities should stay the same – a 4.2-inch TFT digital instrument cluster, an 8-inch touchscreen that supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, as well as multiple USB charging ports, wireless charging, and 12V power outlets.

Like the 7-seater GLS Premium variant, the 6-seater Stargazer's naturally aspirated 1.5-liter Smartstream G gasoline engine puts out 115 PS and 144 Nm of torque and is exclusively paired to an IVT that drives the front wheels.

In terms of pricing, the 6-seater Stargazer GLS Premium now serves as the top-of-the-line model, as it retails for PHP 1,298,000 – PHP 10,000 more expensive than the 7-seater variant.
