Something is interesting going on over at the Hyundai Philippines website. Recently, we looked at their website to see if there's anything new from the South Korean automaker. There, we noticed two omissions in the price list. Not only that, it's two popular models that are missing from the list.
So, what's been removed? That would be the Tucson and the Santa Fe, some of the popular models from the brand. That got us thinking; why would Hyundai PH remove those crossovers from the price list?
No, we don't think they're dropping those crossovers from the local lineup. Instead, we reckon Hyundai Philippines is getting ready to launch the next-gen Tucson and facelifted Santa Fe.
In December 2020, Hyundai Philippines announced that they would launch four all-new and updated models for 2021. Aside from the Tucson and Santa Fe, the teaser they showed also included the updated Kona and (possibly) the redesigned Starex. With that, it looks like Hyundai Philippines will be very busy this year.
But back to the Tucson and Santa Fe. The omission from the price list could also mean they're winding down the sales of the current models. These two redesigned and updated crossovers have been out in international markets for quite some time already. The facelifted Santa Fe was revealed back in June 2020, while the all-new Tucson debuted in September the same year.
If that's the case, then when will it arrive? There is no definite time frame yet, but the local launch is definitely this year should everything go Hyundai Philippines' way. It also isn't known which one will come out first. But if Hyundai can hit two birds with one stone with a single launch, the better.
