With Christmas coming this weekend, Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (i-ACT) has just announced that they will be lifting the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP) or Number Coding Scheme on December 23. According to i-ACT, this was done in anticipation of of the exodus of Metro Manila residents going to the provinces for the Christmas break.
i-ACT will also be lifting the Coding Scheme for all private vehicles on Thursday next week, December 29. This was also done to for those in the Metro to be able to travel in and out of the city as the new year draws closer. December 30 meanwhile is Rizal day meaning UVVRP is automatically suspended on that day.
At the moment, the cities of Makati, Pasay, Pasig and Las Pinas have yet to announce whether or not their respective municipalities will lift number coding.
