As more and more vehicles enter Metro Manila to take part in the holiday rush, the Inter-Agency Council on Traffic (I-ACT) vowed to remain as strict as possible in the implementation of traffic rules and regulations.
According to Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) General Manager Thomas Orbos, apprehension of traffic violators will have as little an effect on vehicular traffic as possible and/or be issued citation tickets through the ‘no-contact apprehension’ policy.
Traffic enforcers and their district officers were asked to ‘strengthen command and control of choke points along EDSA between Timor and Ayala starting December 11 until 25, 2016.
Additional communication equipment will also be distributed to traffic enforcers to ensure efficient communication and response.
The MMDA will also implement a ‘no day-off, no absent’ policy for traffic enforcers starting December 21 until December 24, 2016.
