Starting Dec 1, fully-vaxxed tourists can enter Ilocos Norte without needing a test result
As travel restrictions continue to loosen in the country, more and more people are starting to go out. As a result, popular tourist destinations are once again slowly starting to accept more tourists.
The latest province that plans to ease its travel restrictions is Ilocos Norte. In a recent announcement, the Ilocos Norte Tourism Office shared that fully-vaccinated tourists coming from places under Alert Levels 1, 2, and 3 will no longer be required to present a negative test upon arrival at the provincial border. All they need to do is present a valid vaccination card as proof they are fully vaccinated.
“Starting December 1, there will be no testing for fully vaccinated tourists who are coming from Alerts levels 1, 2, and 3 areas,” said the tourism office.
However, unvaccinated and partially-vaccinated tourists who will come from areas under Alert Level 4 will still be required to show a negative RT-PCR test within 72 hours or an antigen test taken within 24 hours upon arrival.
For a smoother travel experience, tourists are encouraged to register online at https://ilocosnorte.ph. They are also advised to bring a valid ID, secure an individual Quick Response (QR) code, and a confirmed booking from accredited accommodation or local travel agencies.
Active cases may be continuing to drop, but everyone is still advised to follow minimum health protocols, as well as social distancing measures. The last thing we want to happen is another surge as the country continues to recover from the ongoing pandemic.
