Jaguar celebrates six decades of the E-Type with F-Type Heritage 60 Edition
Would you believe that the Jaguar E-Type is turning 60-years old? Revered by many as one of the most beautiful sports cars ever made, the E-Type is sought after by both enthusiasts and collectors.
With six decades of history under its belt, Jaguar wants to commemorate the E-Type's diamond anniversary with a limited-run of F-Types. This is the 2021 Jaguar F-Type Heritage 60 Edition, and only 60 units will be available worldwide.
“Celebrating 60 years of the iconic Jaguar E-type is the perfect moment to create our first-ever SV Bespoke limited edition – and the rarest F-Type, with just 60 cars available globally,” said Mark Turner, Commercial Director, Jaguar SV Bespoke.
All Heritage Editions of the special edition F-Type will be painted in a unique finish called 'Sherwood Green' – an original color not offered on a new Jaguar since the '60s. Meanwhile, massive 20-inch forged alloy wheels finished in gloss black give the car a sportier vibe.
Besides giving it a specially-made exterior, Jaguar was also busy dressing up the coupe's cabin. All Heritage 60 Edition models will come with a two-tone Caraway and Ebony Windsor leather interior trim.
It will also sport an aluminum console finisher - inspired by the rear-view mirror casing of the original E-Type, along with the E-Type 60th anniversary logo embossed on the headrests. Providing the finishing touches on the special edition F-Type is the E-Type 60 badges, commemorative treadplates, an SV Bespoke plaque, and unique floor mats to remind would-be owners they are in something special.
Since the Heritage Edition is based on the F-Type R, the two-door packs a 5.0-liter supercharged V8. It generates an impressive 575 PS and a whopping 700 Nm of torque. Power is then to all four wheels via an eight-speed Quickshift automatic transmission. 0 – 100 km/h is easily achieved in 3.5 seconds, while top speed rated at 299 km/h.
“The F-TYPE Heritage 60 Edition is a fantastic example of what the SV Bespoke team is capable of,” said Clare Hansen, Director of Vehicle Personalization, Jaguar Special Vehicle Operations. “With unrivaled access to original drawings, paint codes, and reference materials, working hand-in-hand with our colleagues at Jaguar Classic, we’ve created a distinctive and highly collectible interpretation of the definitive Jaguar sports car.”
Jaguar has yet to announce the price of each F-Type Heritage 60 Edition. But given that only sixty examples will be made ever, expect to pay a hefty sum of money if you do plan on getting one. Hopefully, Jaguar Philippines can accommodate your request for this very special F-Type.
