Suzuki Jimny cosplays as 'Land Rover Defender', 'Mercedes G-Class'
Don't try to adjust your screens. What appears to be a tiny Land Rover Defender is actually the all-new Suzuki Jimny underneath. Yes you that read right, Japanese tuner DAMD recently built a dress-up kit for Suzuki's little 4x4 to make it look like the iconic 4x4.
Dubbed 'Little:D', the aftermarket kit draws heavily from the Land Rover Defender in terms of design. From the headlights, to the front grill and the distinct hood, DAMD wanted to stay true to the original look . It even gets some nice mudflaps, bulging fender flares, front and rear skid plates, as well as large alloy wheels wrapped in all-terrain tires.
With all those features put together, the Little: D, really does look like a proper Defender, albeit downsized.
Besides Little:D, DAMD also made another dress-up kit in the form of 'Little: G'. From its namesake, it's quite clear that this kit takes inspiration from the Mercedes-Benz G-Class, particular the AMG G 63. Thanks to the Jimny's small dimensions and similar shape, DAMD was easily able to make it look like the real thing. Sadly it does not get a stumping V8 as it still comes with a 1.5-liter inline-four.
However, this is not the first time a tuner built an aftermarket for the Jimny. Last August, Liberty Walk gave the new Jimny, as well as the G-Class, new bodykits. Treated like twins, both the Suzuki and Mercedes 4x4 received similarly-styled aesthetics.
DAMD has yet to state the price of Little:D and Little:G but which one would you pick? The Land Rover Defender look-alike or the Mercedes-Benz G-Class-inspired makeover?
