It's official, the Jeep Gladiator will be making its way to the Philippines very soon. This comes after Auto Nation Group, the official distributor of Jeep vehicles in the country, confirmed that the pick-up truck will be launched in the country this weekend.
The 2021 Jeep Gladiator will be launched online via live stream this coming July 11, 2020, at 3:00 PM. According to Jeep Philippines, there will be a total of two variants available, the Sport and the Rubicon. Meanwhile, the price range of the 2020 Gladiator will be at PhP 3.8 million to PhP 4.8 million. Based on the 'leaked prices' we posted before, the price range of the upcoming pick-up truck is not too far off from the indicated price from the distributor.
There are still no exact specifications available yet for the 2020 Gladiator. However, we won't be surprised if both the Sport and Rubicon variants will come with a 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 that pushes out 289 PS and 352 Nm of torque. Much like the Wrangler, an eight-speed automatic transmission with 4x4 Selec-Trac and Rock-Trac systems will most likely be the gearbox of choice for the PH-spec Gladiator.
Other extras like Fox shock absorbers, front and rear skid plates, heavy-duty steel bumpers with tow hooks, large off-road style alloy wheels, removable soft-tops (and hardtops), as well as large 32-inch tires could make their way on the local-spec Jeep Gladiator. As far as interior amenities are concerned, a dual-zone automatic climate control, 7- or 8.4-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment systems, satellite navigation, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto could be offered for the go-anywhere pick-up truck.
With just a few days to go before it's Philippine debut, you can bet that Jeep might have already accepted early reservations of the all-new pick-up truck. Tune in this Saturday on Jeep Philippine's official social media pages for the grand launch of the 2021 Gladiator.
