Kia reveals new logo with Guinness World Record-setting firework show
Kia decided to introduce its new logo with a bang, literally. The South Korean automaker has revealed the new logo that will be used on future vehicles with a fireworks show.
It wasn't just any basic firework show either. The spectacle was so grand that Kia managed to set a new Guinness World Record for “Most unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) launching fireworks simultaneously” during the logo unveiling show.
Fireworks aside, the automaker's new logo is a radical redesign from what we're used to – the simple KIA text with a red circle. It is a lot more stylized with all the letters connected. Thanks to the new look, the logo looks more like “KN” rather than “KIA”.
According to the automaker themselves, it was made to resemble a handwritten signature, signaling their new brand purpose. Aside from the new logo, Kia also introduced its new slogan, ditching “The Power to Surprise”, for “Movement that inspires”.
“The rhythmical, unbroken line of the logo conveys Kia's commitment to bringing moments of inspiration, while its symmetry demonstrates confidence. The rising gestures of the logo embody Kia’s rising ambitions for the brand, and, more importantly, what it offers customers,” said Kia in a statement.
At the moment, Kia has not disclosed details about the company's future directions. They did say, however, that more information will be revealed on January 15. The upcoming announcement will also include a timeline of future vehicles that will be using the new logo. However, they did say that the launch follows Kia's plan to roll out numerous electric cars in the coming years. There is also a report of a new Kia MPV coming that will rival that of the Mitsubishi Xpander.
We'll learn more about Kia's plans, lineup, and more come January 15. For now, enjoy the fireworks show, and let us know what you think of the automaker's new logo.
