Earlier this month, we got our first look of Kia's upcoming crossover model albeit as in sketch form.
Now, the Korean automaker has released another set of sketches, this time showing the inside of the brand's still unnamed model. If we are to base it off the sketches alone, the crossover's interior looks gorgeous especially for a small crossover.
According to Kia, the new small crossover's interior will 'make a bold design statement' and will be easy to use. The inside will be trimmed in high-quality materials and will be made to look 'chic' thanks to the use of metal accents in the air vents, as well as a broad, sweeping dashboard.
But perhaps the highlight of the cabin is its huge 10.25-inch touchscreen display. It sits proudly at the center of the dashboard and will come with features such as navigation and seamless connectivity with mobile devices. Another noteworthy feature on the upcoming crossover is Kia's Sound Mood Lighting technology which can alter the cabin's ambient lighting, to suit the occupants' mood.
“We have focused on designing a cabin unlike any other in the small SUV segment, with a greater sense of depth and richness to the design. Our newest model will offer greater pleasure and satisfaction to our customers, with a premium-quality interior that benefits from sophisticated design details,” said Byung Chul Juh, Head of Styling at Kia Motors Corporation.
In review, the new crossover will slot below the Stonic and will likely borrow styling cues from the SP Concept that was revealed in South Korea and India a few months ago. When it's officially revealed, the crossover could likely come with an angular design, uniquely-shaped headlights, and a huge tiger-nose style front grill. The rear, on the other hand, could share similar design cues with the Stonic, particularly the taillights, wide hips, and stylish rear bumper.
The small crossover will be offered globally and will go on sale in South Korea in Q2 of 2019.
