There's nothing quite like wearing an all-black attire. While some might see it as something suitable only for funerals, wearing a predominantly black getup can be seen as sophisticated, mysterious, not to mention sexy.
Kia seems to have followed this style to the T when they revealed a special edition model of the full-size Telluride SUV. Called the Nightfall Edition, this particular Telluride swaps the shiny bits for a blacked-out finish.
According to Kia, the Telluride Nightfall Edition Package comes with exclusive add-ons and upgrades. It gets a distinct front grille painted black, huge 20-inch black alloy wheels with black lug nuts and center caps, and LED headlight/foglight inner bezels painted in black. In keeping with the vehicle's dark theme, the Telluride's roof rails, lower side door moldings, skid plates, front bumper, side air-duct garnish, and emblems/logos are all finished in gloss black.
Paired with the Ebony Black body color, and the Telluride looks menacing as heck. But in case you don't want an entirely blacked-out SUV, the Nightfall Edition is available in other colors such as Black Copper, Dark Moss, Everlasting Silver, Gravity Gray, Sangria, Snow White Pearl, and Wolf Gray.
Under the hood, the Telluride Nightfall Edition comes with the familiar 3.8-liter V6. Like the Hyundai Palisade, it pushes out a healthy 291 PS along with 355 Nm of torque. Power is then sent to either all four wheels or just the front wheels via an eight-speed automatic transmission.
We can only wish to have the Kia Telluride Nightfall Edition offered here in the country since Kia Philippines has no plans to offer it here. Still, it might give owners of its mechanical twin, the Palisade, some ideas to make their own SUV have an all-black finish.
Alternatively, should the automaker decide to bring in the all-new Mojave, perhaps they can make a Nightfall edition of their own with some blacked-out aesthetics. But that might take a while since Kia is apparently looking to bring in the Stonic in Q4 of 2020 first.
